Rocketman
Enter in me, about ten years later. I am sitting down with my lovely wife and two boys to watch the best kids comedy of all time, perhaps the best comedy of all time, Rocketman. Little-J was loving it from the get go with the kid in the dryer scene, and was already queued up to laugh at the funny parts. But the odded thing happened. We were watching this scene and he started laughing. At first I was kinda mad, because I thought he was just laughing because we were laughing, and not getting it. But then he said the following:
“HAHAHAHAH!!! He’s so dumb! He has his keyboard in front of a TV!!! That guy is a weirdo daddy!”
Then it dawned on me – I don’t think my son has ever seen a non-LCD monitor hooked up to a computer before. Since he has been born we’ve had LCD’s and laptops. At first I was a little like “Hey, that’s a 24 inch CRT monitor there bucko, that was expensive back then, I would have killed for one of those”. But ended up saying “That’s an old monitor – Can you believe they used to look like that!”
So – father in law – sorry I called your dinosaur a dinosaur – I kinda know how you feel now.
