Fire (I'm sure brimstone was involved)
That being said, I have been reading through the book of Luke, written (ironically enough) by a dude named Luke. Luke was a medical doctor who is paid by a guy named Theophilus to go and research Jesus, because he (Theophilus) really wants to follow Jesus but thinks that most of his followers must be on crack (Or it’s year 60-70 AD equivalent) because of the stories he heard, yet was intrigued nevertheless. So buried in the end of chapter 9, there is a little paragraph where Jesus wants to go to Jerusalem, but the Samaritans won’t let him stay in their town. His followers want to rain down fire and brimstone on them, but Jesus rebukes them.
That’s about all it says, and it was an awkward little paragraph that I never really noticed before. Then a few paragraphs later is the story of the good Samaritan. I’m glad Jesus loves people even when they are complete tools that I would prefer have a little carbon added to their person at times, and hope to be more like that every day…

actually GT is kinda sneaky that way – the “making a Difference” series is leading us through the book of Phillipians
Wow. Not sure how I missed that one. I guess I’ve not noticed the common thread.
Dude, are you telling me Theophilus ben Ananus knew about crack? I thought those pesky gentiles kept their labs secret.
I miss you man.
