Falling Up – Fangs So, this album piqued my curiosity quite a bit. When I was able to pick it up it was clearly the direction that the band has been heading in since they released Exit Lights. Ambient and techno mixes with a guitar driven beat. But the whole themed album thing [...] So, Connor mentioned that the new U2 album was available for 4 bucks on Amazon the day it came out. Chasen Shine Through the Stars I have the pleasure of FINALLY reviewing the CD Shine through the Stars by Chasen. I have been trying to figure out WHO they were for months. I thought (as is understandable) that their name was Jason. Viva La vida Obviously I’ve [...] So, this weekend, I went to a bookstore that was having a crazy-pre-buy-Third-Day’s-new-Album-Sale and, of course, pre bought third day’s new album. I’ve never been super unimpressed with their albums and for 7.99 I prebought the album and then got a 5 buck gift card to the store. I would’ve gotten a new t-shirt [...] I was a little bummed when I downloaded this album to play it. I really was expecting more… Happy-Happy-Fun kinds of music that I have come to expect from Bryce Avary’s band “The Rocket Summer”. But, the more I listened to it, the more it grew on me. And not in that Hampster Dance, kinda [...] I am often 5 or 6 albums deep in my “I’m going to purchase that CD the next time I get an album” thinking. My most recent acquisition was “Do you Feel” by Rocket Summer (review forthcoming soon). Along with the new Starfield and Falling Up albums, I’ve got about 9 right now in [...] |
