I’ve randomly heard them a time or two, though I don’t know if I’ve heard them on RadioU before or not. I’m always in for free music. Falling Up – Fangs So, this album piqued my curiosity quite a bit. When I was able to pick it up it was clearly the direction that the band has been heading in since they released Exit Lights. Ambient and techno mixes with a guitar driven beat. But the whole themed album thing [...] So, Connor mentioned that the new U2 album was available for 4 bucks on Amazon the day it came out. Seeing the opportunity to download it I immediately took it. And I have to say that it’s a tremendously great album. So here is the background about me and U2. I have always been [...] So, last weeks Alpha-Bet was the letters WX. But, really, they were the letter W with the band X-Treme (a cheezyish coverband worship group from a friend’s church. Random minutia – Xtreme (without the dash) is a skanky Italian rapper. Anyhow, last week’s Alpha-Bet basically consisted of this: Willie Nelson, Will Smith, Watermark. iTunes seemed kinda to [...] UVW last week was good and annoying. I should have left U along and just had a “various artists” playlists in all actuality. I actually decided to modify THIS week’s alphabet playlist to be WX, since I think I heard MAYBE 10 W artist songs last week. Various artists were very very various. From [...] OK so I appologize that this is so jokin’ late. Life is nuts around here… Ignore the last week and yesterday! So, everyone was all twitterpated last week about getting their hands on the new Fray album. But, I said “Eh, No.”. Chasen Shine Through the Stars I have the pleasure of FINALLY reviewing the CD Shine through the Stars by Chasen. I have been trying to figure out WHO they were for months. I thought (as is understandable) that their name was Jason. So I looked for reviews of them – anything for a tip onto who [...] OK – So, even though the title may sound like gibberish, it’s very legit. This is about the Letter N in the Alpha-Bet. It’s old and busted because of the New hottness (at the time) of the Galveston trip and it’s preparations. So it was sidelined along with the Olivia Newton John-ness of [...] I used to listen to an online station called troyka.us. It’d been through a revision and URI change a time or two, but finally ended up settling on troyka.us. Having much random indie hardcore, emo, metal of the “PWG” variety I loved the station. I’m not entirely sure if it was attached to [...] Since the last post brought up the “Thom Ghetto Experience”, I figured it would be fitting to review a worship album. One from an artist who is almost always on the mark with his albums, Chris Tomlin. ‘Hello Love’, is an awesome album, but the ironic part is that most of the sub-radio songs are [...] Though, I may sometimes stay into what my reviewer friend … er.. acquaintance Thom Jureck calls “The Ghetto of Praise and Worship”, I often venture outside the hallowed halls of music created by artists labeled as “Christian”. The most recent CD I’ve picked up is Coldplay’s Viva La Vida. Viva La vida Obviously I’ve [...] I’ve often said how I’m a huge Mark Driscoll Groupie. And Unashamedly at that. If for some crazy reason I end up in Seattle, I’ll make sure I go to church at Mars Hill Seattle. The thing about Mark Driscoll is that he’s crazy in a good way. Well, I completely forgot [...] Maybe this alliterating title thing is sometimes do-able. Anyhow, last week I was listening to the Letter L. Let me tell you about L. I have a LOT of Led Zeplin. A lot – like 10 CD’s in the box set – of Led Zeplin. I like most of it. But it [...] A stretch of a title, I know. The letter K was in interesting mix of artists.
