Made it back from Galveston. We made minimal stops. We made it though. Here is a picture of Oklahoma City to prove it… OKC Western Kansas has really crappy wireless covereage. And I think that’s just: Taken in Galveston TX Anyhow, the trip was [...] (editorial comment – this post is being written in the van on the way back from TX – it may show up today [Saturday] or tomorrow[Sunday] because I’m running out of batteries.) We started out our last day of gutting with three houses. The first house was a fairly simple sounding job “Gutting garage of drywall [...] Today was a day wrought with mud, oil, and mold. I started out the day in the house we were at yesterday in the pit / garage. 1.5 (ish) inches of mud that we had to shovel out. The main thrust of the sermon was that there really shouldn’t be a difference between sacred and secular because there is nothing [...] So we made it down to the came in SouthEast Houston in 17 Hours 5 minutes. We made it in 7 minutes later than our projection due to traffic. The amazing thing is that the closer we got to the gulf, the damage got worse and worse. The camp is pretty simple and the cot [...] Today I embark on my first real mission / relief thing outside of the city in which I live. I wouldn’t say that I’ve been nervous or apprehensive about going, except I’ve been a little freaky-outy about driving there. You see I’m a driving control-freak. A trait I think I inherited from my [...] |
